Combining elements of the Easter celebration which are of various origins from the symbols of fertility from Ancient Roman, Ancient Greek, Pagan and other traditions to the cross signifying the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ. These result in a confusion of symbolism which represents the historic influences on the celebration and gives us a snapshot of our cultural journey. The energy of the piece is one of birth/rebirth and growth, activity, awakening after winter’s slumber and celebration.
