This is a unique piece of studio pottery which has been made using stoneware clay and fired to 1250 degrees. Its has been made using a plaster mould. (All my moulds are handmade by me). The feet are added after with thin pieces of textured clay. The inside is decorated with a layer of green slip, oxides and a clear glaze. The outside is left rough and textured with a slight glint from the oxides used and is textured in comparison to show a contrast in the clay surfaces. The metal leaf is added after the firing process. This piece is part of my current gallery collection of archeologaically inspired work. Due to the metal leaf this piece should not be used for food.
The dish is 22cm across
