These mugs remind me of wonderful walks in the mountains with exciting rain clouds looming in the distance.
I wanted to design a set of contemporary mugs and bowls that would look beautiful and interesting on the table at every mealtime. One that told the origin of how and where they were made
The clay these mugs were made from was dug up from our own island. The spiral handle shows the energy of our lives and the ancient physics of the potters wheel. The glazes reflect the colours that we see in our surrounding lowland pastures and mountains as the seasons change.
You would receive a mug very similar to the mug in the picture. As my work is all studio pottery each piece is slightly different as the glaze never melts in an identical way.
