"A painting isn't just a painting.... It is full of memories, past, present and future. There is no rhyme or reason to how this painting came about which is the case with a lot of my own work. Literally an idea just pops into my head. The sun in the background is the tattoo I have on my arm and that is a reminder of being 21 and being in the USA for 3 months having the best time of my life at that time, the white toy rabbit is my love of Alice in Wonderland, teachers writing in my reports that "Elle has an overactive imagination". The time on the watch is 4 o'clock and 4 is my favorite number and also symbolises something sad never to be forgotten, the butterfly is how life can be too short, its precious and we should make the most of it. Eggs, is the miracle of life itself. Then there are all the characters in the painting which I know will mean alot to the people whose dogs they are, and that no matter what breed, shape or form, our time with our canine friends is precious".
