Traditional rag doll, made to an old pattern.

She is made in brown cotton, and softly stuffed with polysester filling, so very cuddly.

Her dress is a vintage Laura Ashley cotton in dark blue with a pink flower pattern. It is a very soft fabric.

It has puff sleeves gathered into elastic at the elbow. At the neck is a silky little pink, decorative bow, and the dress closes at the back with two white press studs.

At the hem there are two pin tucks.

Dolly is wearing matching knickers.

She has white booties, made in felt and stitched with a white twisted button-hole stitch. The booties have a wide cuff which can be turned up or down, and are tied with a decorative pink riboon around the ankles.

Her face is in embroidery floss, bright blue eyes and deep pink smile.

Her hair is black yarn, and every strand is individually stitched in to her scalp. It is in mixed lengths giving an exciting, relaxed style.

Her dress, knickers and booties are all removable.

Dolly measures approximately 20 ins from head to toe.

The stuffing is HiLo polyester toy filling to BS5852, BS1425, EN71

I have made lots of rag dolls, for my granddaughters, their friends and for Folksy, and they have been very popular, and then ....

my friend's little girl admired one but she is mixed race and wanted one that looked like her, reasonably enough. Her Mum had not been able to find one anywhere, so asked me if I would make a 'brown' one.

So I did.

She is delighted with her dolly, and when her friend, also non-white, saw her she wanted one too. So I was pleased to make her one. They are good friends and now their dollies are too.
