Gemstone Information
Jasper comes from the Greek word, iaspis, which means "spotted stone". A form of micro-crystalline quartz, jasper derives its colourful patterns from other minerals present, and is often named according to its pattern. It owes its colour to ad-mixed hematite, but when it occurs with clay ad-mixed, the colour is a yellowish white or blue grey, or with goethite, a brown or yellow.
The colour is beautiful, with opaque incursions against the blue and black and white colouring.
This gemstones natural opaque colours and intriguing detail's are themselves inspiring. I felt the fresh stylish silver flattered them beautifully.
