Item details

Scarves are great to keep one warm in the mists or cold winds of Autumn. This warm scarf is constructed from crocheted Autumn leaves. Ideal for yourself, a gift for a friend or a student.

To make the scarf I crochet all of the basic leaf shapes, using the thick variegated yarn. Then I carefully crochet round each leaf shape using a contrast or toning yarn. Next I crochet all of the leaves together. And finally I sew the leaves together for added strength.

Scarf details:Approx 63.5 inches (161cm) long
Approx 4.5 inches (11.5cm) wide
Yarn: acrylic in variegated Autumn shades.
Edging: mixed yarns includes wool. Please message me if you would prefer to not have wool in the edging yarn. The non wool edging colours may not be the same as the photo shows.

Wash at 40c in a pillow case or one of those special laundry bags, short spin. If hand washed dry a little between the layers of a towel before hanging up to dry.

I love Autumn colours and leaf shapes. I fell in love with the maple leaf pattern created by Susan D Kennedy*. I thought it would make a wonderful scarf if I crocheted the leaves in the same chunky variegated yarn that I used for the Autumn leaf tea cosy and sewed them together.
I love the effect. My daughter, who modelled the scarf says that it is cosy.
