This ring takes care to recognise the importance of the leaf stem, and its the focus for every piece in this collection.

The stem is a symbol of new life, sprouting from the old. I believe in the power of the seasonal natural cycle, whereby autumn leaves fall to the land only to feed the earth that feeds the trees, that supports new leaf growth to begin the cycle again.

The silver wire used to form the band of the ring is 1mm thick, and is wrapped around several revolutions to form the ring band.

Each leaf is drawn freehand and cut using a coping saw, the texture is added using hammering techniques and the 1mm wire is filled to its tip and shaped before carefully soldering to the leaf and finally worked into the wrapped ring design, soldered and fixed in place. As every ring is made to order please note that the photographs are examples only and although every effort will be made to replicate, all pieces made will be slightly different.

The added beauty of these rings is that each one made will be unique.

This new collection takes inspiration from Autumn leaves. The brief was “Woodland”

Observing nature during autumn, I set out to capture the passage of time, as the leaves turned to beautiful reds, yellows and browns. Watching as the seasons rotated, another year passing, I became mesmerised by the ever changing notes of nature.

Inspired by the impermanency and the natural order which embraced the flow and celebration of the universal energy which drives all aspects of nature.

I'm very interested in symbolism. The Tree represents Life and also holds a mystical connection to the earth, heaven and the underworld. The single leaf is an ancient heraldic symbol said to signify happiness.

I choose the shapes of the Elm leaf (which represents dignity), and Walnut leaf (hope and joy) as the basis for the designs.

I intentionally take care to recognise the importance of the leaf stem, and its the focus for every piece I make in this collection.
