These huge acrylic diamond shapes with their abstract patterns in light brown and khaki green just screamed animal print to me when I saw them, so I combined them with dalmation jasper gemstone beads with their distinctive black spots on a cream background and dangled them from sterling silver post and butterfly fittings. The acrylic beads pattern is hard to describe - sort of jungle pattern meets army fatigues! They are very long, make no mistake, and very different.
Some handcrafting jewellery makers would object to the combination of acrylic beads and gemstones here. I say, kick over the laws of convention and try it out! It works for me, and you'll know by now if these one-off, designer handmade earrings work for you too :-)
Dimensions: total drop from piercing 9.5 cm (nearly 4 inches): acrylic diamond 30x45mm: dalmation jasper 10mm: picture jasper 4mm: shown on 1cm squared paper in the final shot to give you an idea of scale: please note I use macro photography to show details and the items may appear larger than life size on your monitor.
