Welcome to my Folksy shop in which you will find a variety of hand-stitched accessories for you and your home, many of which make lovely (and easy-to-post) gifts. I stitch in a variety of styles, combining traditional embroidery with other textile techniques such as felting, weaving, hand dyeing and silk painting. A beautiful display of roses in burnt orange, golden yellow and white are hand-embroidered onto this brooch.
The background is a soft green fabric, which has been heavily embellished with several layers of embroidered leaves to give depth to the design. The roses and rose buds are embroidered in silk ribbon, and embroidery threads. The ribbon embroidery stitches used give further relief to the design.
Couched yarns in two shades of green, twisted together, frame the design. The brooch is reinforced by plastic cut from a recycled bottle, The back of the brooch is neatened with felt and a brooch pin is securely stitched in place.
Height: 4.5 cm approx.
Items of embroidered jewellery may not be entirely colourfast and care should be taken that jewellery items do not get wet in use in case colour should be transferred to items of clothing.
Please note: items from Lynwoodcrafts are intended for adults. This item is unsuitable for children under 3 years of age since it contains small parts which may represent a choking hazard. This item is also unsuitable for older children as it contains a sharp pin.
