A pretty necklace with three small flowers made from an old brooch, which I cut up. The little stone set flowers are strung on a double organdie ribbon in green and gold. The original brooch was actually quite ugly! A strange sort of question mark with three stalks coming out of it with one of these little flowers on each one. I've used the stalk to make the ring that the flower hangs by.
I had planned to make three seperate necklaces but seeing the three next to each other I decided they would look better together.
Either side of each flower is a large vintage bead , these beads are really quite old and are large bugle beads of a sort which were originally coloured green inside, some of the green colour has worn away a little but that gives them a faded charm. Silver coloured crimps hold the beads in place. The necklace has a silver bolt ring and fastening tag, marked respectively 925 and sterling silver as they are not an original pair.
The necklace measures roughly 18" long and the flowers have gradually longer rings so they hang asymetrically.
A very pretty piece, as it is so simple it suits a variety of styles, everyday with a T shirt or to dress up in the evening when the stones will really sparkle. Ideal as a gift for the lady in your life.
