The poppy has been hand printed onto a piece of handmade 100% cotton rag paper. I created the printing plate by using TetraPak packaging from a fruit juice carton. The printed image has been stitched onto another piece of the cotton rag paper that has been blind embossed - using a beautiful crocheted table mat that was made by my grandmother. The image has been further embellished with a stem and leaf for the flower created using embroidery thread. The finished piece has been float mounted onto an ivory white piece of textured mount board.\n\nMaterials:\nKhadi handmade cotton rag paper\nAnchor stranded cotton embroidery threads\nCranfield Caligo Etching inks\nDerwent Inktense pencils\nAcid free mounting tape\nAcid free mount board\n\nOverall dimensions: 165 x 165mm  (6.5\" x 6.5\").
