In Finnish, \"Kala\" means fish. This piece is inspired by that quiet movement and the amazing transformation of nature before winter. The red of these leaves was so deep and powerful that I had to preserve them on this Finnish birch wood.\n\nI carefully collected these leaves to keep their rich autumn colour. To create depth, I used pieces of wood and small touches of natural coral as a support to lift the composition. I also added gold leaf to catch the light, like the sun hitting the forest floor. It is a balance between the raw strength of nature and very fine details.\n\nSize: 27x27x6 cm (Deep box frame).\n\nMaterials: Virginia creeper leaves from Finland, eco-friendly Finnish birch, gold leaf, and eco-label acrylic.\n\nNatural Evolution: This is a living piece. Because I use real organic leaves, the colours will naturally change and evolve over time. This is the beauty of using real nature.
