The fordite has an unusual trapezoid shape which is emphasised by the pattern of concentric rings. The fordite measures approx 34mm top to bottom and 27mm across with a bail attached at one of the points. It comes complete with a sterling silver chain but the generous 8mm bail would fit a ribbon or leather cord if you wanted to switch it over. It would make a great gift for anyone who loves their cars or anything a bit unusual.\r\nNot heard of fordite before? It's layers of over spray paint that builds up on racks at car factories, the build up gets baked in the curing ovens in between each layer of paint giving a hard material that can be cut to show the different colours. This particular material came from Jeep's factory in Toledo in 2019/ 2020 and I cut and polish it myself. I have matched it to the paint charts, the teal is a limited edition shade called 'Bikini' (I love the teal shade but evidently Jeep didn't as it didn't stay in production for very long although they have subsequently re released it).
