It has been added to the Perfectly Imperfect Sale as it was an experimental design I decided not to proceed with.\r\n\r\nMade from white earthenware clay, these textured brooches are handmade from start to finish. Initially texture is applied to the surface of the clay using a decorative wooden block with a tropical hibiscus design. Each piece is then air dried for several days before being kiln fired to form bisqueware. \r\n\r\nNext to the fun bit, applying colour! I hand paint each brooch using combination of vibrant, tropical hibiscus coloured underglazes. Before dipping in a glossy transparent glaze and firing for the final time. A brooch pin is then attached to the reverse and ta-da it's ready to wear! \r\n\r\nPlease note each brooch is completely unique due to the making process.
