It had a 2912cc straight 6 engine giving a 0-60mph time of 10seconds; unfortunately it was not a success, the poor handling and extra weight hampered its performance against the MGB. It was withdrawn in 1970 and buyers had to wait until 1973 when the MGB GTV8 was produced with the lightweight, powerful, and well proven Buick/Rover 3500cc V8 for a justifiable successor to the Austin Healey 3000.\n\n(We photograph and design the illustrations we use on our products.
