In 1967 they introduced the MGC with a straight six cylinder from the Austin 3 litre saloon but it was never successful due to indifferent handling and disappointing the public who were expecting a replacement to the primitive but exciting Austin Healey 3000. It was withdrawn in 1969 but the buyers had to wait until 1973 when the MGB GTV8 was produced with the lightweight, powerful, and well proven Buick/Rover 3500cc V8.\n\n(We photograph and design the illustrations we use on our products.
