The detailed pattern is created by an Indian carved stamp in the centre.   Each corner has been shaped using a sculpting tools and little 'hand' buttons added by applying slip.    \r\n\r\nIt has been bisque fired to 1000C and then gently sanded before applying a red iron-oxide wash. The iron-oxide has been applied with a brushed and then sponged off to give the appearance of the intricate design.
