Known as the Hand of Fatima in Islam and the Hand of Miriam in Judaism, it's believed to protect against the evil eye and all negative energies.\r\n\r\nIt is handmade with a earthenware clay using the slab method. The detailed pattern is created by an Indian carved stamp.  It has been bisque fired in the kiln to 1000C and then gently sanded before applying a red iron-oxide wash.
