The main body has been needle felted using woollen fibres which have been sculpted into shape using a barbed felting needle to bind the fibres together. It is made using a core of white wool with woollen fibres in appropriate colours added as a top coat. The wings and tail have been made from hand made wet felted sheets of felt. Each feather and the leading edge of the wings have been wired allowing the wings to be gently posed.   The owl has a beak made from silk clay, the feet are wool wrapped wire and black acrylic half pearls have been used for the eyes. The owl has been posed in flight and is mounted on a rustic wooden base by means of two clear acrylic rods. \r\n\r\nThis barn owl ornament measures approximately 25cm tall (to top of head, base included) and has an overall wing span of 48cm.\r\n\r\nPlease note: this barn owl is intended as a collectable or ornament.
