K2 granite is a rare stone that comes from the base of the K2 mountain in Pakistan - the second highest mountain in the world. Over many years of weathering and erosion, copper compounds in the rock become dissolved and redeposited as spherical orbs of blue azurite in a background of grey-white granite. I have soldered some silver granulations to the bottom of the setting to celebrate the shape of the blue orbs. The K2 rock has a hardness of 6.0 on the Mohs scale. It is also known incorrectly as K2 jasper. The dimensions of the stone are 40x20x5mm and the sterling silver backing meaures 50x25x0.8mm. I have drilled a hole in the top and  added a fluted bail for attachment to the chain. The chain shown in the photos is the one which will be supplied with the pendant. It is a 40cm long round snake chain, 1.6mm wide. Please contact me if you would prefer a different one.
