I often recycle the packaging I send out my items in.\r\n\r\nA piece of wood was selected and cut to accommodate the size of the external heart. The external heart was cut using a bandsaw following a design. Using carving knives I then handcarved the central heart and the tree bark effect. Next I painted the carving with acrylic paint before coating it with several coats of lacquer to protect it. The lacquer used is water and heat resistant, and toy safe.
