There are 6 one shade squares featuring techniques such as cabling and twisted stitches and 6 \"picture\" squares.  You will need to be able to do intarsia and stranded knitting to knit these.  The squares are knitted from bottom to top in strips then sewn together vertically.  The edging is knitted separately then sewn on to the blanket.  I usually back the small size blanket with quilting, there are instructions for how to do this in the pattern.\r\n\r\n\r\nMaterials required:  1 pair 3.25mm knitting needles, a cable needle.\r\nQuilting if required.\r\nRowan Cotton glace 100% cotton. Tension 23sts x 30 rows over 10cm square using 3.25mm needles.\r\nThere are 10 shades required for this pattern, some in small amounts.  The pattern lists the amounts you need for each size.\r\n\r\nYou can purchase a knitting kit for the small, medium or large size blanket in my Folksy shop.  This provides you with all the yarn you need to knit and sew up the blanket of your choice.
