I have created the background using a base fabric of calico, then appliquéd tiny pieces of Liberty fabric around the door. The front door has hand embroidered gold work door knocker, letterbox and door knob. The Baker Street sign has been hand stitched and french knot wisteria give this design a whimsical feel. A lantern made out of wire and buttons complement the little diorama.\r\n\r\nThis little piece of textile loveliness has been assembled in a shadow box frame and has no glass inside, because well, you can't keep the famous detective locked up, he likes to observe all that goes on around him.
