Initially the peacock feather texture is applied to the surface of the clay using a wooden block. Each piece is then air dried for several days before being kiln fired to form bisqueware. \r\n\r\nNext to the fun bit, applying colour! I hand paint each brooch using a combination of peacock coloured underglazes. Before dipping in a glossy transparent glaze and firing for the final time. A brooch pin is then attached to each piece and ta-da it’s ready to wear! \r\n\r\nPlease note each brooch is completely unique due to the making process. Therefore the sizes are not necessarily uniform. The Organic hand shaped brooches are round but not uniform.
