Kay Warner Profile
A bit of a bio........
I'm a 'hands on' granny and I live in a pleasant South Coast seaside town. During my "middle years" I took City & Guilds Creative Embroidery Parts I and 2 and creative embroidery became my passion. I love fabric, fibres and threads. Best of all is the way I can change the appearance of a piece of cloth with the addition of a few lengths of thread and some simple embroidery stitches. I'm also a doll-maker and an enthusiastic blogger in the textiles corner of the "web" meeting other textile artists on-line from all over the world. Isn't technology wonderful?!
I make art dolls.
I also make collectible dolls that are more robust and like to be handled and played with. They are made with safety in mind - they have to be, because I always give the first ones to my grandchildren.
All of my dolls are made, one at a time, by me from my own patterns in a non-smoking pet-free environment.
No two dolls are ever exactly alike, because I make them, costume them and embroider or paint their faces individually.
Find out a bit more about me and my textile work here and about my other types of dolls here.
