I always used to go to night classes to learn about new subjects or skills - psychology, photography, piano, & so on... and really enjoyed them all, but then I discovered ceramics and it was instant love! My tutor was brilliant at not only teaching, but encouraging us to experiment.

Everything I make is either hand-built in porcelain or thrown on the wheel using a porcelain/white stoneware mix. The inside is usually glazed in a speckled colour so reminiscent of those delicious mini eggs we get at Easter. The outside is either clear glazed (perhaps with a little decoration!) or left unglazed for a textural contrast. I love to experiment with printing & decals, and ideas are all around.

I am now lucky enough to have a small studio in my home town in Hampshire and manage to get there 2-3 days a week. Obviously I won't 'give up the day job' just yet and so must do real work the rest of the time!
