Denise Milward Profile
I'm passionate about quality handmade jewellery, working in many media including wire, crystal, precious and semi precious stones and metals. I've been handcrafting jewellery for over 20 years and have wide experience of both off-the-peg and bespoke items.
Jewellery should not just reflect your character, but your mood too. If you want to match a giggly mood, go for the fun stuff...but you'll find elegance and style are here in abundance too.
Commissions and repairs undertaken, all quotes free. Mail me at denise@milward.org.uk. or visit my website at www.milward.org.uk/jewellery. You can see me for real too, instead of my avatar (his name is Jasper, he's 17 years old and a rescued Persian) and also look at the wide variety of jewellery related items I make.
As you'll see from the other items beside jewellery, I have other interests too - I enjoy anything that's creative and needs "hands-on". My family reckons I'll only sit still for five minutes if I'm busy with my hands...
When I've been downright anti-social by jewellery-ing in my craft room, I like to sew or knit or crochet in the living room with everyone else - I can knit/sew/crochet, watch TV and carry on a sensible conversation all at the same time then.
The charity I'm trying to raise cash for is Weston Park Hospital in Sheffield. I was diagnosed with a brain tumour at the tender age of 17 in 1973; I had surgery to remove it at the now-closed Royal Hospital in Sheffield. By 1979, 6 months married and one year into teaching, the tumour regrew and I was given 6 months. Weston Park had me for a month's radiotherapy and this turned out to be successful, though we were told we'd never be able to have children. As I write, my gorgeous 27 year old daughter is working on her OU degree on a downstairs computer, so Weston gave me not only my life but a wonderful family including my amazing 80+year old parents. The only cloud over it is that I was made unhappy in my job by my boss who knew about my medical history but had no sympathy for the after-effects of all the treatments. I ended up having to retire in my late thirties. I've a helluva lot to be grateful for though!
Please help me give back some of the wonderful support and care I had from Weston, by buying from me. It may not be much but it will go a long way to helping continuing patients like me.
