Profile

Hi, I've been living and loving the handmade lifestyle as long as I can remember, going to extremes by making a handmade house when I lived in OZ.

My ART practice divides between wool-craft and fibre-arts. The techniques that I use are transferable. I like to use ethical and planet friendly resources when I can; luckily this gets easier day by day.

I make one off garments and accessories from a variety of fibres and yarns which include my own hand spuns. Mostly, I will have dyed these yarns for a particular project. Merino for it's softness and warmth, mohair and english or blue-faced leicester for the fuzz and shine, and sometimes a little synthetic sparkle.

My fibre-art incorporates embroidery, painting, dyeing, quilting and other manipulated fibres and yarns assembled into a collage to produce the final image.
My core interests as an artist are about how we experience seeing and being on this planet right now, and how we respond to our environment and the natural life cycle .
Form and texture in the details of the surrounding natural world wherever I happen to be, translated into fibre.
