Meet the maker Veryan

Welcome, come dip your toes into the sparkling waters of Beady Pool handmade jewellery.

Beady Pool creates handmade jewellery in the glorious county of Cornwall specialising in the use of UK made artisan beads, sterling silver, fairtrade hilltribe silver, quality gemstones and glass beads.
Many items are one offs and where designs are replicated they are made in small batches, we like the idea of individuality and wearing jewellery which is unique to the wearer.

Veryan, the designer and maker, has a passion and probably a minor addiction to handmade lampwork beads. She never ceases to be amazed at the magic of glass rods being heated and manipulated can create a beautiful beads with so many variations.
Beady Pool sources beads only from UK artisans who each have their own individual style. The beads are made in either one off sets or very small batches.
By combining the beauty of the lampwork beads with silver and colourful gemstones and beads one off pieces of statement jewellery are created each with it's own story and inspiration.

Veryan first made jewellery over 20 yeas ago, selling her designs in a small boutique in St Ives, Cornwall. A few years back she started Beady Pool and set about creating designs based on the artisan beads she had seen being made which she herself would be happy to wear. Her designs are often inspired by the differing landscapes, flora and fauna of Cornwall where she was born and now lives.

Beady Pool is named after "Beady Pool" on St Agnes, Scilly. At low tide you can hunt in the pool and still find beads from a 16th Century Spanish shipwreck just as Veryan did as a child.

Since Beady Pool began, we have taken part in many shows including:
