Profile

I was taught to knit by my Grandma when I was 5 years old. I remember sitting on her knee as she held my hands and guided the wool round the needles and together we made very wonky dishcloths. In my shop you’ll find luxurious shawls; funky neck warmers in the softest wool and cute little scarves in the season’s favourite colours. My pieces reflect my love of bohemian glamour with a lot of my work being influenced by the elegance of the 1940’s and 50’s. I work with both new and vintage yarns and am a bit of a magpie so anything with a bit of sparkle makes me come over all warm and tingly. My philosophy is I only ever make what I would want to wear or use myself so you can be sure that every piece I sell has been made with love. Each item is handmade by me on my little narrow boat in West London and I use materials with a touch of luxury so you'll find most of my products are made from yarns such as mohair, alpaca, Egyptian cotton or merino which are carefully sourced from across the UK. I'm always happy to adapt items so if you see something you like but fancy a different colour or material just let me know and I'll see what I can do.And now for the boring bit.....PaymentFolksy only accepts payment by PaypalPostageUnless you are buying an item which is made to order, I aim to ship within 3 working days of receipt of payment.
