Meet the maker Ruth Eglinton
I love all things fabric, I patchwork, I quilt, I make all sorts of crafty items and I love my computer. Whatever did we do before computers? My design process is often computer based, I often draw many versions of my projects before ever cutting a single piece of fabric. I find it saves a lot of waste! And we can’t have wasted fabric... oh no.
Hand quilting is another of my favourite pastimes, I enjoy organic echo quilting working from a base shape and then letting my needle show the way.
I work as a technical editor and illustrator for the UK knitting and patchwork company Rowan. I write the instructions and draw the diagrams for Kaffe Fassett’s patchwork books published by Rowan. I also write patterns for my good friend Maggie Wise of www.sunflowerfabrics.com.
