I've enjoyed making gifts for family and friends since I was a very small girl and have tried almost every craft there is in my time.

Why 'Plowmen's Clocks'? Well... its the title of one of my favourite books by Alison Uttley. Out of print for many years, if you see it anywhere buy it and be transported to another happier time. Mrs Uttley's title for her book comes from Shakespeare:

"When shepherds pipe on oaten straws,
And merry larks are plowmen's clocks..."

When I'm fiddling about making something I've no sense of time and its usually the noisy sparrows coming to roost in the hedge outside the window that tell me its time to start on the tea!
