Hattie Startin Profile

I am currently living in Nottinghamshire which is where I make and design my products, on the edge of Sherwood Forest Country. I grew up in the Lake District and spent all of my time drawing, making things and roaming the countryside, I later went on to study Fine Art in Nottingham, after which I discovered my love for knitting. I'd been taught to knit as a child by my mother, who also was taught by her mother, and her mother before her. Since spending a summer after university at my Grandmothers summer house in Finland, where I taught myself to knit fair isle, I have shamelessly indulged this passion and now produce a range of knitwear, from mittens, berets to toys. I'm hopefully going to be adding some new products to the shop this year using some amazing British Wool and also some handspun (from the Lakes of course). I also have a love for the Nordic countries and all their folklore and traditions, if you'd like to see and hear more please visit my blog at http://hattiestartin.blogspot.com/ I'd love to hear from you!!!
