I trained as a scientist and a teacher but I have always been involved in some level of designing and making thanks to growing up in a make do and mend and be creative family!

In the past few years I have exhibited and sold mixed media collages and been featured for my entry to the British Sari Story competition run by Bridging Arts. My design work is now in a book by the Victoria and Albert Museum called British Asian Style I have also designed a children's duvet cover, called “love to learn” for a competition run by Fou Furnishings and my entry was one of two made up into covers and sold by them.

I live in a terraced house on a long busy street in London with my family.
We have pretty much everything on this street! : a church, a large park, a couple of hairdressers, a newsagents and a really good English Fish and Chip shop and there's even a school and railway station at the very far end!

I love the buzz of the place and the multi cultures mingling, the bustle on the nearby high street and the diversity of the world foods and spices readily available here. I get alot of my inspiration for my work from the environment here.

I work from my craft room which is right at the heart of the house and it always feels a lovely place to be!!
