Welcome to my little space on Folksy. Incase you are wondering, the name of my shop comes from the Latin meaning "rare bird", which also is used to mean something special or someone special.

I have always been involved in some level of designing and making thanks to growing up in a make do and mend and be creative family!

In the past few years I have exhibited and sold mixed media collages and been featured for my entry to the British Sari Story competition run by Bridging Arts. My design work is now in a book by the Victoria and Albert Museum called British Asian Style I have also designed a children's duvet cover, called “love to learn” for a competition run by Fou Furnishings and my entry was one of two made up into covers and sold by them.

I like all sorts of crafts. I sew clothes for my children, enjoy creating art with watercolour and acrylics, also jewellery making but my favourite craft that I always come back to involves paper : making books and cards. I think I have always wanted to make and sell stationery. I set up my first stall with handmade cards in my friends front garden when I was still at Primary school, I remember we put them for sale at 2p, I don't think we sold any !

As a child one of my favourite shops was a local stationery shop full of pens paper and envelopes and art supplies. I just love the feel and possibilities of paper and use recycled and handmade paper were ever possible.

I live in a terraced house on a long busy street in London with my family and work from my craft room which is right at the heart of the house and it always feels a lovely place to be!!

2. Shipping Policy: I will post your purchase as soon as possible after payment but certainly by the next working day. Our local post office closes on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons,so orders made past midday on Wednesday will get posted on Thursday and weekend orders will be posted on Monday.
