Heidi always enjoyed sewing from a young age, and started designing and making her own clothes as a teenager. Favouring art and textiles at school, she went on to study Theatre Costume at Art College.
Throughout her life she has always worked with the textile, fashion and embroidery trades, and continues to work as a Sales Manager within the domestic sewing machine market.
Extra Special Touch was created in 2009 to fulfil Heidi’s need to be creative. The range of wedding gifts are made to order in quality natural fibres, and personalised napkins can be embroidered with your own design to match your wedding theme.
Heidi’s range of fascinators combines her love for period costume, traditional millinery techniques and embroidery. Each petal is created individually with various embroidery techniques on water soluble fabric, before being embellished with beads, crystals, wired and made into a flower, and then hand stitched onto a traditional fascinator base.
