Meet the maker Emma Elizabeth Clease
I had a passion for Art and Design from a young age and focused all my energy on studying the subject. After leaving school I did an Art foundation course where I fell in love with Textiles. I went on to complete a Degree in Multi-Media Textiles at Loughborough University and a Masters in Fashion and Textiles at Bath Spa University.
Since graduating I have worked as a freelance textile designer and sold designs in London, Paris and New York. I have also trained to become a Secondary School Design Technology Teacher and love being able to share my enthusiasm for Textiles with others.
My designs are inspired by both nature and geometric design and use a variety of techniques including appliqué, embroidery, digital print and embellishing. I am greatly influenced by vintage textiles and traditional techniques such as hand embroidery, patchwork and quilting.
I am currently developing my line of products to sell locally and through folksy, whilst also teaching textiles. I am also available for commissions and private tutoring.
