My name is Sarah and I am a full time lecturer in graphic design. Whilst education keeps me busy enough, I still enjoy creating functional items that add a sense of fun and style to everyday activities.

I love wool and all natural fabrics - particularly in colours that reflect the natural landscape.

A VERY BRITISH AFFAIR reflects and celebrates a range of traditional motifs and themes - from traditions, customs and rituals, to the nostalgic, quirky and eccentric.

Homewares and accessories celebrate the idiosyncracies of our heritage and lifestyle through the use of pattern, colour and texture.

This venture is still very much in its infancy and there are so many ideas and themes I would like to develop. In an attempt to stay focussed, I intend to approach one theme at a time - currently working in wool and tweeds, drawing initial inspiration from country life and the local landscape.

My tea cosies are made with recycled and felted knitwear which in some cases still reflects the original stitches.
