Using Paypal with Folksy

This page is to help you navigate around Paypal and start an account so you can sell on Folksy. Many of you will be familiar with Paypal and may even have an account. It's still worthwhile checking that your Paypal account is set up properly for postage / shipping (see bottom of page).

1.Go to the PayPal homepage

In order to be able to sell things on PayPal, you will require a Premier account. If you just want to be able to buy, then you can set up a Personal account.

2: Choose your country of residence and then choose Premier!

3.We'd recommend that you pay for your purchases by direct debit or credit card but this is up to you!

From here, it should be pretty straight forward to set up an account.

4. Enter your contact information:

5. You will then be sent an email where you will be asked to confirm your email address:

6. You will then be directed back to Paypal to enter security questions:

7. Once you've completed the initial sign-up process, you will be directed to your account page.

8. At this stage, you'll notice that it says you're "Unverified". In order to become a seller on PayPal, you will need to provide your bank details.

Here are the steps for inputting your bank account details. Note: you will need to own a bank account in the United Kingdom at present to sell on Folksy. Follow the prompts as seen on the screenshots, below.

9. Once you've inputted your details, PayPal will deposit two small payments in your account. You will need to wait 3-5 days for the amounts to appear on your statement.

10. Once they appear, you need to log back into you PayPal account and complete the final stage of sign-up! To do this...

11. When you log in, you should see this screen:

Click on 'complete bank setup'

And you'll see this screen:

Check your bank statement and enter the two amounts deposited by PayPal into your account. Now you only have 2 more things to do!

12. Firstly, you need to increase your account limits. For more information on this, see the help section (you need to be logged in to see this page).

Next, you'll arrive back here:

13. For the final step, click on 'Supply Additional Information':

14. You now need to complete the postage settings:

1. Log into your account. This should take you to your account page.

If not, then click on my account along the top navigation bar.

Then click on profile:

Under selling preferences, click postage calculations:

You will arrive at this page:

At the bottom of the page where it says:

"Miscellaneous - Allow transaction-based delivery settings to override profile settings (Optional)"

You need to check this box, so that PayPal will not interfere with the postage settings stipulated by the service you're using (Folksy).

That's it, you're done, and ready to begin selling your items on Folksy!
