Folksy : Jude Allman

I make functional ceramics for everyday use around the home. Most of my pots are hand-thrown on a wheel using stoneware clay, but I also enjoy making small decorative ceramics like buttons and pendants. Some of my pieces are made using a traditional Japanese firing technique called raku which creates a beautiful crackle glaze.

Raku Bowl (White and Turquoise Crackle)

This beautiful little raku bowl has been hand-thrown from stoneware clay and glazed using white and turquoise crackle glazes. Between these two glazes the pot has been left unglazed to reveal a smokey grey band created by the firing process.

This small bowl measures about 8cm x 4cm and bears my own pottery seal near the base. The crackle glazes used in raku pots means they are porous and decorative only: so they should not be used for containing food or liquids. It also means each pot is totally unique and perfect as a gift or beautiful keepsake for someone special.

This is a listing for one raku bowl only.

Sale - Small Mug

These lovely mugs are perfect for people who like small cups of tea or coffee. They’ve been hand-thrown on a wheel using stoneware clay and reduction fired in a gas kiln which has brought out the natural speckled fleck in the clay. They are glazed in a clear glaze and decorated with a simple design using iron oxide brushwork on both sides.

These mugs measure about 7cm high and 6cm across. The glaze is dishwasher safe and each mug has my own unique pottery seal at the base of the handle. Please note that slight variations in glaze and decoration are a part of handmade items.

This is a listing for one small mug only.

Original Acrylic Painting - Cornflower with berries

‘Cornflower with Berries’ is an original acrylic painting depicting a stylised interior with a display of flowers in a white vase. This painting has a simple, calm atmosphere and is painted with fresh colours and shades.

For this painting I’ve used acrylics on a small ‘deep edge’ canvas. The canvas measures 10 inches by 10 inches (about 25cm by 25cm) and is about one and a half inches deep (about 4cm). The painting is unframed and the edge is painted using a very light grey so it can be hung on a wall without a frame for a contemporary look. This painting is an original artwork and is signed by me (Jude Allman) in the bottom left hand corner.

(Please note that Jude Allman retains the copyright of the image of this painting even after purchase. Any questions please ask. Thank you!)
