The piece is locked together using a half lap joint with a peg glued into it, making a very sturdy trivet measuring 21.5 cm from end to end and 2.5 cm deep. The trivet is dipped in hot linseed oil to finish and harden the wood to make it withstand extreme temperatures. It’s a beautiful, stand out piece of table furniture.
