Trixie is made from coffee and cinnamon dyed linen,sanded back for primitive loveliness.She has embroidered features with a needle sculpted nose.Her hat, bodice and sleeves are a fine dotty,cotton lawn and her removable overskirt is 3 layers of tulle trimmed with dots.She has painted shoes and have rosied her cheeks with watercolour pencil.She has hessian wings attached on her reverse as she isn't quite sure whether she's an elf,pixie or a fairy (and neither am I)! She measures about 40 cms. sitting and is about 52cms over all. She has a painted paper clay face, rubbed back to appear aged and chipped, which has then been coated in paper varnish. Her hair which has been partially glued, as well as needle felted to her head ,is washed Leicester Blue Faced fleece.The bodice of her dress is woven cotton gingham, trimmed with pale pink satin (which was originally a 30's table cover - probably from the boudoir) ! The rose and heart have been made from the same satin. The heart has 'The Key to Love' attached. Her skirt is layers of tulle with a white cotton petticoat.On her reverse are her wings which are made from plastic, machine embroidered with silver thread and then attached with a mother of pearl button.
