Cinderella Brooches

Following on from the success of my C is for Cinderella screenprint, I decided to make a few brooches based on my designs using shrink plastic. I can't tell you how much fun it is to put a larger version of your design in the oven and watch it curl and shrink down, down, down!

These particular brooches measure approximately 46mm x 30mm (Cinders) and 33mm x 50mm (slipper), and are finished with a light coating of varnish, and 20mm brooch pins (with safety catches) securely glued to the underside. They come mounted together on a card and in a stripy paper bag, ready for giving, or just for treating yourself.

Please note, due to the nature and charm of the plastic used, there may be slight variations in the size and colour of each brooch.

Seagulls aren't usually my favourite creatures, but, living by the sea as I do, you can't avoid them! This guy, however, is much more friendly than the ones you find on Brighton seafront. Like all my other new brooches, this one is made from shrink plastic; I can't tell you how much fun it is to put a larger version of your design in the oven and watch it curl and shrink down, down, down!

This particular brooch measures approximately 55mm x 52mm and is finished with a light coating of varnish, and a 20mm brooch pin (with safety catch) securely glued to the underside. Each brooch comes mounted on a card and in a stripy paper bag, ready for giving, or just for treating yourself.

Woodland Treasures Brooches

I love a good fairytale, and I can just imagine these little treasures nestling in the foliage of the forest as a deer picks its way through the trees. Like all the other brooches in my Woodland series, these brooches are made from shrink plastic; I can't tell you how much fun it is to put a larger version of your design in the oven and watch it curl and shrink down, down, down!

These particular brooches measure approximately 42mm x 30mm (toadstool), 50mm x 22mm (oak leaf) and 34mm x 25mm (acorn), and are finished with a light coating of varnish, and 20mm brooch pins (with safety catches) securely glued to the underside.
Who doesn't love an owl? I've been a bit owl obsessed for a few years now, so I thought I'd try and alleviate that a bit by making a few owl brooches using shrink plastic. I can't tell you how much fun it is to put a larger version of your design in the oven and watch it curl and shrink down, down, down! I'm not sure I've succeeded here in keeping my owl obsession on the down low, though. If anything, it's grown! I might have to keep one or two of these for myself....

This particular brooch measures approximately 53mm x 58mm and is finished with a light coating of varnish, and a 20mm brooch pin (with safety catch) securely glued to the underside. Each brooch comes mounted on a card and in a stripy paper bag, ready for giving, or just for treating yourself.

Please note, due to the nature and charm of the plastic used, there may be slight variations in the size and colour of each brooch.

Leaping Hare Brooch

I do like a big bunny, and a leaping, shrink plastic hare is even better! I can't tell you how much fun it is to put a larger version of your design in the oven and watch it curl and shrink down, down, down!

This particular brooch measures approximately 103mm x 47mm and is finished with a light coating of varnish, and a 20mm brooch pin (with safety catch) securely glued to the underside. It comes mounted on a card and in a stripy paper bag, ready for giving, or just for treating yourself.

Please note, due to the nature and charm of the plastic used, there may be slight variations in the size and colour of each brooch. Some hares are a darker brown than the one shown here.
Little Red and the Big Bad Wolf Brooches

Following on from the success of my Little Red and WANTED screenprints, I decided to make a few brooches based on my designs using shrink plastic. I can't tell you how much fun it is to put a larger version of your design in the oven and watch it curl and shrink down, down, down!

These particular brooches measure approximately 45mm x 32mm (Little Red) and 47mm x 42mm (Big Bad) and are finished with a light coating of varnish, and 20mm brooch pins (with safety catches) securely glued to the underside. They come mounted together on a card and in a stripy paper bag, ready for giving, or just for treating yourself.

Please note, due to the nature and charm of the plastic used, there may be slight variations in the size and colour of each brooch.

Oh, Deer Brooch

I love a good fairytale, and I can just imagine this little fella coming to comfort Snow White in the the depths of the dark, dangerous forest. Like all the other brooches in my Woodland series, this brooch is made from shrink plastic; I can't tell you how much fun it is to put a larger version of your design in the oven and watch it curl and shrink down, down, down!

This particular brooch measures approximately 83mm x 50mm and is finished with a light coating of varnish, and a 20mm brooch pin (with safety catch) securely glued to the underside. Each brooch comes mounted on a card and in a stripy paper bag, ready for giving, or just for treating yourself.

Please note, due to the nature and charm of the plastic used, there may be slight variations in the size and colour of each brooch. Some deer are darker than the one shown here. If you have a particular shade in mind, please do not hesitate to message me and I'll do my best to help.

In this particular set, S is for Scarecrow. I'm definitely wouldn't go in that field if I were a crow. Actually, I wouldn't go in that field full stop. Or to that farm. Or within five miles.

In this particular set, H is for Haunted House. I'm not sure that the little ghosty who lives there is particularly scary, though. Looks to me like me just needs a playfellow to cheer him up. Maybe next time you're Trick or Treating you could pop by to say hi? The limey green background also has a gold sparkly sheen to it that the light picks up nicely.

Due to Little Red's popularity, I am now selling my "seconds". These are "proof" copies with some imperfections, hence the lower price.

Imperfections may include mis-registration and lighter patches, but these all add to their charm! The beauty of hand-pulled screenprints is that no two prints are the same.

These are not part of the original limited edition of 9 prints.

This print will be stamped, signed, posted between two sheets of card and securely wrapped.

Zipperella Brooch

A vibrantly green brooch made from a couple of good, old zips and topped with a yellow vintage button.

The brooch measures 9.5cm x 11cm (4" x 4.5") between the widest points, is securely sewn together, and is backed with a circle of green felt and a safety brooch clasp. The button is particularly nice - it's embossed with little cats and flecked with tiny spots of red and green.

The perfect quirky finish to any outfit!

Marmaduke

Marmaduke is a knitted monster, but he's not the kind to lurk under your bed. In fact, he's a bit of an old scaredy-cat. His three favourite things are eating toast in front of the fire, stripy socks, and sleeping with the light on. But he hates the rain, cats, and Things That Go Bump In The Night.

Marmaduke has asked me to say that he would like a home where he can have a nice bit of piece and quiet, preferably with lots of books to read, if that's not too much trouble, thank you.

Marmaduke measures 41cm/16" from eyes to toes, and 24cm/9.5" across his middle. He is knitted in the round in King Cole Merino Wool Blend yarns and stuffed with 100% polyester stuffing. Although both yarn and stuffing are machine washable at low temperatures, I recommend a surface sponge only.

Marmaduke also comes with a 2.5cm/1" button name badge on his back, and a Naughty Little Monsters tag.

Although all seams are strongly sewn and safety eyes are used, I do not recommend giving Marmaduke to a young child.

One-Eyed Wilhemina

One-Eyed Wilhemina is a knitted monster, but she's not the kind to Go Bump In The Night.

Her three favourite things are banana ice cream, kite flying, and her boyfriend, Willie. Wilhelmina does not like tomatoes, chick flicks, or the washing-up.

Wilhelmina has asked me to say that she would like a nice home with nice people who like lots of ice cream and chocolate.

Wilhelmina measures 18cm/7" from top to toe, and 15cm/5.5" across her middle. She is knitted in the round in King Cole Merino Wool Blend yarn, and stuffed with 100% polyester stuffing. Although both yarn and stuffing are machine washable at low temperatures, I recommend a surface sponge only.

Delilah has asked me to say that she would like a nice, friendly home with cheery people and who like a good cup of tea and Simon Mayo on Radio2.

Delilah measures 20cm/8" from top to toe, and 20cm/8" across her middle. She is knitted in the round in King Cole Merino Wool Blend yarn and stuffed with 100% polyester stuffing. Although both yarn and stuffing are machine washable at low temperatures, I recommend a surface sponge only.

Herbert

Herbert is a knitted monster, but he's not the kind to Hide Under your Bed.

His three favourite things are banana sandwiches, surfing and his best friend, Esmerelda. Herbert does not like pickled onions, sand behind his ears, or washing the camper van.

Herbert has asked me to say that he would like a chilled and relaxed home with cool and groovy people who like listening to mellow tunes and having late night barbeques.

Herbert measures 12.5cm/5" from top to toe, and 17cm/7" across his middle. He is knitted in the round in King Cole Merino Wool Blend yarn and stuffed with 100% polyester stuffing. Although both yarn and stuffing are machine washable at low temperatures, I would recommend a surface sponge only. His antennae are perfectly poseable due to hidden pipe cleaners.

Herbert also comes with a 2.5cm/1" button name badge on his back, and a Naughty Little Monsters tag.

Although all seams are strongly sewn and safety eyes are used, I would not recommend giving Herbert to a young child.

Daphne and Erkel

Daphne and her baby Erkel are knitted monsters, but they're not the kind to give you the Heebie Jeebies.

Daphne likes eating Malteasers, watching Neighbours (preferably both at the same time) and going to the beach. She does not like films with Nicolas Cage in them, coffee, or staying up late.

Erkel is too young to have dislikes. He likes everyone and everything, especially if they bring choc-chip cookies with them.

Daphne measures 39cm/15" from eyes to toes, and 24cm/9.5" across the middle. Erkel measures 17cm/6.5" tall and 11cm/4" wide. The pair are knitted in the round in King Cole Merino Wool Blend yarns and stuffed with 100% polyester stuffing. Although both yarn and stuffing are machine washable at low temperatures, I would recommend only a surface sponge.

Daphne and Erkel both come with a 2.5cm/1" button name badge on their backs, and a Naughty Little Monsters tag.

C is for Cinderella

In this particular set, C is, of course, for Cinderella, dancing the night away in her lovely white and blue ballgown, not realising midnight is ticking nearer and nearer...

Please note, due to the nature and beauty of screenprinting, each print will vary slightly.

In this particular set, K is, of course, for King, enjoying a summer feast in the extensive palace grounds. Once the feast is over, he'll be off to his counting house to count out all his money, and maybe later he'll call for his pipe, his bowl and his fiddlers three.

A two-colour A3 (29x42cm/12"x16.5") unmounted and unframed screenprint from my new Fairytale Alphabet series. The print is shown here mounted in a 40x50cm/16"x20" frame.

In this particular set, Q is, naturally, for Queen, enjoying a stroll in her rose garden. We can only hope that she doesn't noticed they're all white...

This print will be posted between two sheets of card and securely wrapped. Every print is numbered, signed and dated and is from a very limited edition of only 12 prints.

Please note, due to the nature and beauty of screenprinting, each print will vary slightly.
