    <title>Folksy : emily stubbs</title>
    <link>http://folksy.com/shops/emilystubbs</link>
<description>I am a contemporary ceramic designer and maker, working from my studio in Yorkshire. The mountains of everyday, forgotten objects, vintage textiles and old magazines in my Grandmas attic are my original inspiration. My work aims to be a fun, celebration of these everyday objects, imagery and prints, bringing them together in a unique and quirky way that everyone can enjoy. Each piece is handmade, therefore there are never the same two items produced. You can be sure to own a one-off, unique piece of art work! I also undertake commissions on demand, a great opportunity to create a unique, personalised gift ideal for birthdays, weddings, christenings, Christmas and Valentines! Please feel free to contact me. Emily www.emilystubbs.com

      <title>'Spit Spot' Ceramic Hanging Heart</title>
<description>A hand made stoneware brooch. Aprox: 7cm tall. The brooch surface is made by layering different mark making techniques. First textures and marks are scratched into the clay surface when wet. The brooch is then fired to 1000c. Then coloured slip and glaze is applied and the brooch is fired again in a kiln to 1200c. Finally home made or open stock transfers are applied and the brooch is fired a third time to 750c.

The nature of the techniques used means that there may be slight variations in the brooch surface....but this adds to the fact that each brooch is a unique piece of art in itself and you can be sure no-one else will have one identical!

Perfect as a Mothers Day present or birthday gift or as wedding favours! If you would like your brooch personalised with a name or date etc just let me know!
