The red and yellow flowers are complimented by green leaves in a range of colours and textures. The inspiration for these flowers come from the plasterwork in a local ruined stately home called Poltimore House (Devon). They are made using entirely recycled glass and I have copper foiled the edge of each painted piece and then fitted them together into a pleasing shape and soldered in place. The fish shape was made from pieces of waste glass pieced together into a fish shape and held in place with PVA glue, rusty discarded washers and other metal bits have been sandwiched between the layers of glass to create the details of the eyes and decoration. I have then fired it in the kiln; the glue is burned off and the metal inclusions suspended in the fused glass.
