About the shop
Tir Pur, Welsh for ‘Pure Land’, is a reference to the location of the brand in the beautiful Rheidol valley of Mid Wales. It is the creation of Alice Briggs - artist, arts educator and craftsy curator/upcycler. The goods on sale are created in a (semi) converted chapel studio and motivated by a love of making and all things vintage.
Alice is employed as a museum and gallery curator and inherited a love of old things from her archaeologist parents. Tir Pur is her enterprise in reusing, modifying and upcycling old things, arts, crafts, and everyday ephemera. It currently focuses on providing obscure antique and vintage pieces including the discarded fabrics and objects that Alice finds in junk shops and car boot sales.
