With a background dripping in sparkle I added an image of a 1930's lady but merged her body with the bottom half of a traditional mannequin resulting in this slightly other worldly image. This print would be great for teenagers that have an interest in fashion and vintage clothes. I love the illustrations by Tenniel and have used rubber stamps featuring his work to make this one of a kind piece. The canvas's are 5x7(portrait).One features a playing card theme with a reversed image top and bottom.The embossed Hatter is watercoloured by hand in greens and blues.The borders are made of blue and purple ribbon and in each corner are wooden hearts decorated with a phrase from the Alice stories.For a hint of glamour I have added gold and blue foil to the picture to catch the light. First I saw 1 ladybird, then 2,then 3 appeared!!I was so glas they turned up up so I could capture this beautiful image. I do have to confess that the fairy section isnt real, I added her using my new obsession of photo editing. I decorated her outfit in ladybird/natural colours so she would fit in nicely with the rest of the image and added some bottles of pop and tasty iced cupcakes to give a party feel to this A4 size glossy print. I wasn't sure how to use them both in a picture so I experimented with different looks and discovered this final effect. So here is an A4 glossy print of the back view of the Edwardian couple.The effect gives a graffiti, spray painted look to it, making it fuss free and minimalist. I usually aim my images for the female market but I think this picture would appeal to men as well as women, and anybody that likes a monochrome look to their rooms. . Im read his autobiography recently, did you know he briefly worked in WH Smith! I love the silent era, the pale skin,dark eyes, amazing costumes and such dangerous physical comedy that today no leading man would be allowed to attempt it due to health and safety. So here is my homage to Charles Chaplin. The picture is of a framed stage, with Charlie as his most poupular character, The Tramp.Lit by a street lamp, the background gives a defination of the word, silent. Even though I think the images are beautiful by themselves I thought I would add my own twist and add a bit of lightning and foil the image, giving a modern look. The lightning was inspired by learning that the tower was hit by lightning in the early 1900's.The Tower was also in the news again in August '11 due to it being struck by lightning again. This is an ideal image for a themed room in our house.Or if your an interior designer looking for something a little bit different. This print will be posted in a 'do not bend' envelope. I took this rare opportunity to take her picture making sure not to disturb her. When she woke up we had a chat and she told me she is related to the elves who helped out a shoemaker many years ago. Her speciality is dressmaking, she had just finished the dress she was making and became so tired she needed a rest. I stuck to a purple/pink colour range(its my favourite)and added hints of it to her dress and make up.She is dripping in diamonds so I added a diamante background and added a hint of pink, then framed the image with a foiled picture frame to give a modern twist. This image is part of my shabby glamour idea of updating the shabby chic look by adding bolder colours and glamorous women to the already established shabby chic aged feel in interior design. I have coloured certain parts of the image with shades of purple and lilac, added handwritten text and sequins for extra glamour and given her deep blue eyes. I think this image would look beautiful in a off white shabby chic frame or an ornate gold frame to compliment the pinks in the image. This print will be posted in a do not bend envelope. The backdrop is encrusted with sparkles in pinks and clear diamantes.The theme is based on powerful women hence the Dutchess title, so the focal point is a very glamorous lady in pink 1930's style gown. Ive added wings to give an ethereal quality and a top hat embellished with more sparkle to show she is the boss.To add to her importance a tiny cameraman sits on her shoulder filming her every minute of the day. I have used seperate elements to make up this picture, the background is a very colourful tropical underwater scene, complete with tropical fish, the top half of the mermaid is taken from some gorgeous images i have of vintage woman, I then added a striking pink tail.To give her a pirate look I added a tricorn hat, belt and treasure chest resting on the sea floor. This would make an ideal print for pirate or mermaid fans, perfect for a childs bedroom wall.
