They have been tumble polished, then oxidised to bring out the rolling wave details and add to the texture of the earrings. The chess queen imprint is made using an old letterpress stamp. The earrings have then been polished, and antiqued to bring out the imprint detail. The carnelian stones are facetted teardrop shapes. Carnelian comes in a range of shades, from dark amber to bright orange, occasionally lightly banded in colour – the fifth image gives some idea of this colour range. Because of this, I have tried to match each pair of stones as best I can, but each pair of earrings is completely unique. The ear wires are hand made from sterling silver wire. The focal bead is agate, completely translucent apart from an attractive patch on one edge. It measures almost 3cm in diameter. The other beads on the necklace are a mixture of freshwater pearls, white jade and glass. The wire around the main bead is sterling silver, as is the necklace chain. The focal bead is fixed centrally in the chain, giving the necklace a total length of 18.5 inches. It has a sterling silver bolt ring fastening. This necklace uses a slightly heavier-weight chain than others in the same style which I have done. The Sea-Creature is made using silver clay (Art Clay Silver, which when fired becomes solid fine silver, .999 quality), which I have patterned with a shell, then antiqued to bring out the detail. A short length of 9ct yellow gold chain is attached between its neck and the silver necklace chain. The necklace is sterling silver belcher chain with a silver bolt ring fastening, and has a total length of 17 inches. The Sea-Creature is just over 2.5cm long. The ear wires hang long at the back of the ear, but they are still very comfortable and easy to wear. They have been formed by hand from sterling silver wire, making each pair unique. From these hang classic white freshwater pearls, which balance the longer wires nicely. The pearl drops hang just over 1cm, and the ear wires are approximately 4cm long behind the ear. A unique variation on the classic pearl earring, these are elegant and easy to wear, for any occasion or every day. The dragon charm is made using Art Clay Silver (silver clay, which when fired leaves a piece of solid fine silver, .999 quality), which has been imprinted with a leaf skeleton, then polished and antiqued to bring out the details. The paua shell is from New Zealand, and the labradorite has been wrapped with sterling silver wire. The charms hang from a sterling silver chain, 18 inches in length with a silver bolt ring fastening. For an idea of scale, the dragon/shell charm hangs approximately 3.5cm long. My silver clay charms are all individually hand made, and each piece of labradorite and paua shell are unique, so your necklace may not be identical to the one in the photographs. The focal bead for this sumptuous necklace has been decoratively wrapped with silver wire and beads, and the necklace is adorned with a selection of dusky pink-hued beads. The focal bead is a lovely pale aventurine quartz, which is complimented by the use of pale pink rose quartz and frosted white glass beads, and slightly darker pink freshwater pearls add an almost metallic lustre to the colours.
