      <title>Embroidered Book - Cream Roses</title>
<description>A posy of embroidered roses decorates the outer cover of this beautiful, hand made book.

The cover is made from a piece of knitting in a rich red pure wool. Moss stitch has been used for texture. The embroidery has been worked in tapestry wools, white merino yarn and metallic gold thread. The full blown rose has been stitched in a strip of gold and cream fabric using ribbon embroidery techniques. The cover is lined with a lovely printed cotton fabric in shades of red, green and metallic gold on a cream background. The lining is backed with iron-on interfacing. The cover is reinforced with two layers of heavy interfacing. The back of the cover folds inwards over the pages and the cover is then fastened by twisting ribbon around a vintage button.

The pages of the book are assembled into three 'signatures' of seven folded sheets each. Giving a total of 42 pages. Each signature is firmly stitched into the cover using bright red crochet cotton. The ends of the thread are decorated with a selection of red and pearlised beads.

Dimensions -

Height : 8 cm approx.
Width: 9.5 cm approx.

Please note - red can be difficult to reproduce 'accurately'. Seen on my screen, the beads are accurately represented, the cover should be a slightly deeper and 'calmer' (less yellow) red.</description>

      <title>Summer Daisies Bookmark</title>
<description>A panel, of daisies hand embroidered in tapestry wools on a hand-knitted and felted background, has been slip-stitched to the top of this linen bookmark. The panel is framed in couching over a toning yarn.

The bookmark has been stitched from a cream, linen/viscose fabric, backed with heavy iron-on interfacing. The centre seem at the back of the bookmark is neatened with white lace. Ribbon tails are stitched into the base of the bookmark. Due to the nature of the embroidered design of this bookmark, the decorated portion is several millimeters thick and I suggest you allow this to protrude from the pages of the book.

      <title>Embroidered Notepad - Blue Roses</title>
<description>A bouquet of beautiful roses, amidst a cloud of white gypsophila, decorates the front cover of this hand-embroidered notepad.

The cover has been hand-knitted in a simple garter stitch, using a self-patterning sock yarn. Two roses have been embroidered in fabric strips using ribbon embroidery techniques. Buds, leaves and gypsophila flowers have been added by further embroidery in tapestry wools.

The cover is lined with blue felt, hand-stitched in place using blanket stitch. Tow layers of heavy interfacing are inserted for structure.

The 'pages' of the notepad are of a standard A6 size folded in half. They are held in place by a ribbon tied around the spine of the notepad. The notepad may either be used as a source of loose notes or you may jot in it as a notebook, or a mixture of the two. The notepad is supplied with 16 folded A6 sheets - giving 32 pages, 64 'sides', inserted. A further two sets of replacement papers are included with the notepad. These standard size pages may be replenished by simply re-tying the ribbon around a new supply. The 'end-papers' are a pretty blue checked paper. The notepad closes with a ribbon bow.

Merino, and other wools, combined with mohair and silk fibres, have been needle felted to create the background for this cuff. Several layers of differing and contrasting shades, have been built up on a base of a pure wool suiting, giving a depth of colour to the design. 'Quilting' stitches have been used to give texture and stability to each panel of colour. The edge of the cuff is finished with blanket stitching. A diagonal division marked by couching over a hand dyed silk and wool yarn marks the boundary between areas of blue and those dominated by greens. The pinwheel motif has been couched over a fancy knitting ribbon.

The back of the cuff has been neatened with commercial felt. The cuff closes with a loop stitched loop over a vintage button - carefully chosen to compliment the design.

It may easily be moved up to a maximum of 8 1/2 inches or 22 cm. Please message me on ordering with the size you would like, within these limits.

      <title>Embroidered Notebook with pencil</title>
<description>A beautifully soft and tactile item - entirely felted and stitched by hand and decorated with a hand embroidered panel - a little touch of luxury!. A colour coordinated 'mechanical' pencil, and a pad of sticky notes, are included.

Three opposing layers of hand-dyed fibres have been used to build up a lovely depth of colour for the cover of this notebook. The foundation layer is lime green, over which is worked a layer of golden yellow - both in merino fibres. The final layer is a mixture of silk and mohair fibres in closely matched shades of crimson. A wool fabric has been used as a base layer for the felting. Felting mohair tends to give a 'looser' result and the cover has been hand 'quilted' to anchor the fibres more firmly.

A panel of golden merino fibre has been felted onto the front of the cover. This has been decorated with an embroidered design in a pinwheel motif. The panel has been framed by couching over a yarn of mixed wool and silk fibres.

The cover has been lined with golden yellow, commercial felt. There is a pocket to hold the mechanical pencil (included) and one for a sheet of card to which the sticky notepad (also included) is attached. The notebook closes by twisting a length of yellow ribbon around a vintage button. The pencil uses standard refills and the sticky notes are of a standard size so that both might easily be replenished.

Dimensions
Height of cover - 9.5 cm approx

<description>A small, needle-felted panel has been embroidered with a profusion of flowers to form the summer border design for this brooch.

Merino, and other wools, combined with mohair and silk fibres, have been needle felted to create a miniature background with areas of vibrant colour representing different swathes of planting. Clumps of blue iris, deep burgundy alliums, roses and carnations, interspersed with mixed foliage plants decorate the brooch. The flowers are stitched in embroidery threads, using simple techniques - blanket stitch, straight stitch, French knots and daisy stitch - all achieving a richly textured piece. I hope you like it!

      <title>Embroidered Brooch - Harvest Poppies</title>
<description>Brilliant red poppies embroidered against a felted cornfield form the design for this brooch. This is a popular theme which I have repeated several times, however, each brooch is a unique composition

Naturally died silk and mohair fibres are combined with merino wool, in the felt which forms the background to this brooch. Distant poppies are represented by small French knots in embroidery thread. The poppies in the foreground are embroidered in organza ribbon. The brooch is stiffened with plastic cut from a recycled bottle. A row of couching over a yarn of mixed cream and beiges, frames the design.

The back of the brooch is neatened with felt and a brooch pin is securely stitched in place.

      <title>Embroidered Brooch - Blue and Green</title>
<description>A doodle in threads! Fantasy flowers are hand embroidered in blue, peacock, lime green and metallic blue, on a background of hand-dyed scrim stretched over a printed cotton fabric.

Simple stitches are used to outline the flowers and to fill in the background. Together with the textured effect of the scrim over the cotton print, this gives a rich and sumptuous design. The scrim is from a selection at Folksy shop: http://www.folksy.com/shops/thebluehare.

The embroidered panel has been stretched over plastic cut from a recycled bottle. The back of the brooch is neatened with felt and a brooch pin is securely stitched in place.

      <title>Embroidered Brooch - Orange Glass </title>
<description>A lovely orange glass pebble, stitched to a hand-woven background, forms the focus for this brooch design.

The glass pebble with a lovely iridescent effect, formed the inspiration for this design. The background has been woven from a variety of yarns, chosen to enhance the colours in the glass. A swirl of beads, in a similar blend of colours, is stitched to enfold the pebble.

The back of the brooch is neatened with commercial felt and a brooch pin is securely stitched in place. This brooch is one of a series, but, due to the individually woven backgrounds, and unique combination of beads, no two will ever be the same!

      <title>Embroidered Pendant(or brooch) - Seaglass</title>
<description>A piece of seaglass, collected from the north Wales coast, stitched to a hand-woven background, forms the focus for this pendant design.

The background for this pendant has been hand-woven in shades of blue, grey and cream - the sea on a slightly cool spring day perhaps! The yarns chosen are of a variety of textures and thicknesses, including one with an 'eyelash' strand which gives lovely blue tufts. The seaglass forms the centre of the embellishment. I am always fascinated by the way the sea arranges its treasures in gently waves and drifts on the beach. A variety of beads have been grouped around the seaglass in a gentle curve - reminiscent of the work of the seas.

The pendant is hung from a ribbon loop over a cotton cord which closes with a lobster claw clasp into a chain - allowing some adjustment in length. The back of the pendant is neatened with commercial felt.

If this design is preferred as a brooch, I will be happy to remove the hanging loop and sew a brooch pin securely in place at no extra cost - message me on purchase if you require this option.

Dimensions -

Height of pendant : 6.5 cm approx.
Length of cord: 44 cm approx
Length of additional extension chain: 4 cm approx

      <title>Embroidered Brooch - Poppies on Wool</title>
<description>The embroidered poppies contrast cheerfully with the knitted background of this brooch.

The base of this brooch has been knitted, in moss stitch, using a wool blend in subtle shades of green, burgundy and autumn browns. The flowers have been embroidered, in a mixture of tapestry wools, using blanket stitch, straight stitch and French knots. I have had trouble replicating the red colour of the poppies - on my screen the red is showing as brighter and slightly lighter than they are. I would describe them as 'pillar box red'.

<description>A practical purse embellished with hand-embroidered flowers in lovely autumn colours.

The embroidery is worked in cotton threads, using simple stitches. The body of the purse is a beige, flocked (mock suede) fabric. The purse is hand-stitched using blanket stitch and the paler orange thread. The purse closes with a stitched loop over a vintage button. The 'neck' of the purse is part way up the flap and, since it is folded over when the purse is closed, this helps to stop coins escaping.

The purse could be used for coins, or other small items. It would make a travelling jewellery pouch as shown or could be used for hair accessories.
