I machine knit a fabric, put it in through the washing machine, cut it up and then stitch it back together again...

I'm inspired by the natural world - plants, seed pods, the underwater world and things I find on the beach. I live in the countryside so I'm surrounded by beautiful things.
I've always made things but I really got going after doing a Textiles degree when I retired. I was the oldest in my year which had its challenges, but I did have a lot of sewing skills that the younger students didn't have so there were some advantages as well. I learnt to machine knit at uni and it really inspired me to experiment. I discovered the amazing properties of wool and now I rarely use any other materials.
I love having the time to design and make things to my own satisfaction.
